2010/02/03

The new chairman of the Tax Service office (SIN) – local acronyms- Roberto Ugarte will continue undertaking the policies of the Minister of Economy and Public Finance and that has been accomplished by the servants of the tax collector institution that contributed to the economic success achieved by the country.

The Minister of Economy and Public Finance, Luis Alberto Arce Catacora designated, this Wednesday, to the chairman a.i. of the Tax Service office (SIN) Roberto Ugarte Quispaya to whom he entrusted to continue undertaking the policies established from the Ministry during the first 4 years of Evo Morales’s administration.

The designation was in compliance with a Resolution from the Presidency of the Plurinational State of Bolivia designating Ugarte ahead of that office substituting Marlene Ardaya who took charge of the  National Custom Office.

Before taking the office of Tax Service, Ugarte left the office of the         Vice-Ministry of Tax Policy depending on the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance, charge he was on since January 2008.

Arce mentioned that this new stage of the SIN, under a new chairman will continue working on the same logic, guideline and work directions from the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance.

Since we took office in 2006,  we have achieved many economic triumphs internationally acknowledged  and that is due to the staff working on it since then. The Tax Service office has played a leading role for the Government to accomplish that success.

He highlighted Ardaya’s management, however, assured that it is remarkable to remember that the new management under Ugarte will keep on going through that path, those guidelines entrusted by the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance and that have been materialized, concretized and implemented by the operative branch of the SIN.

We still have to walk more, to upgrade and achieve more efficiency, total transparency, agile service to the contributor for him or her may pay taxes in a comfortable fashion being sure that his or her contribution is well managed, that those tributes are well allocated and not squandered because, so far, we have been creating a tributary consciousness in the country.

There are many projects still to be  implemented and the challenge is to increase the tax collection, thus, rise up the revenues for the State  and finally be able to build more schools and other endeavors for the people, said the Minister.

Ugarte, by his hand was grateful for the designation and stated his willing and strength to face the challenges of the Tax Service office.

He assured that the policies undertaken by his preceding chairman will be continued, with transparency and the purpose of earning more tax collection.
